A legacy film is a professionally filmed interview with someone you love: their childhood, their work, their faith, their advice, told in their own words and kept forever.
It is the film families wish they had made. We sit down with your parent or grandparent in a comfortable place, ask the questions their grandchildren will want answered and let them talk. Old photographs, letters and family places are woven through the edit. The result is not an obituary in advance. It is a conversation your family gets to keep having.
What we ask
Where did you grow up, and what did it smell like in the kitchen? How did you two meet? What was the hardest year, and what got you through it? What do you want the family to know when you are not here to say it? We prepare the questions with you, and then we get out of the way.
Interviews run gently, with breaks, in an afternoon. Some families film one storyteller. Some film both grandparents together. Both are right.
How we care for it
The investment
Milestone films are quoted personally, because a home birth with an on-call window is a different commitment than an anniversary film. Legacy films are quoted by scope: one storyteller in one afternoon, or a fuller family project across visits. When you reach out, Kyle will walk you through the options and put exact numbers in writing before you commit to anything. Payment plans are available, and film sessions can be gifted or added to a registry.
One promise on every quote: no surprise fees, and the full-quality film is always included.
Good questions
A filmed and edited interview that preserves a person's life story, voice and presence: part biography, part conversation, part heirloom. Also called a life story film or video biography.
Sooner than feels urgent. The best time is while telling stories is still easy and fun. Milestone birthdays, anniversaries and holidays when everyone is in town are natural moments.
Every grandparent says that, and every finished film proves them wrong. A good interviewer and a comfortable room do the work. Ten minutes in, they forget the camera.
Most legacy films run from a rich highlight film to a longer full-conversation edit, agreed in advance. Your family owns every file, including the raw interview if you want it archived.
Yes, and they should be. Photographs, letters, home movies and the places that mattered are what turn an interview into a film.
